The Dawning
Is this the Dawning of the age of aquarius? A deep fiery sun is beyond the horizon. Mysterious inscriptions, not yet to decipher but it feels as if I almost remember their meaning. Maybe there is a new way to be behind that darkness?
While painting I look into the inner realm, not at the world of things around me – related to experiences you might have in a meditation.

The Rising
Colors, textures, pattern and hardly visible inscriptions in multiple layers create an atmospheric landscape. Is it a blurry moon rising over a nightly mountain range – or is it the Light finally penetrating into the darkness of this world?

Plane Shift
An atmospheric piece, where fluid and blending shapes interchange with harder geometric angles. It reflects the overlapping of realities that we might experience in meditative inner journeys. Or can it be that even our perceived outer reality is not as solid as we think? Could we be multi-dimensional beings that exist in several planes at the same time?

First Glimpse
Here I am going for a calmer, more contemplative atmosphere, with larger resting space with neutral color tones – contrasting with the big blurry orange burst and intuitive scribbles. It reminds me of the inner state while entering a meditation, when first glimpses of inner peace arise before the mind settles into a deeper silence.

Stargazing
An inner landscape with a darker mood. Big textured shapes with mixed media elements and deep layers shining through – creating a dreamy atmosphere: I'm gazing at the stars, flying over a mountain range - or am I already in space? I'm alone and in peace, happy to just be.

Range of Motion I
A pure abstract study that explores contrast and movement. Shapes are defined by the freedom of dynamic gestures of the body and the brush, the painting being also a physical act of expression.

Sanctuary
Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at anytime and be yourself.
This quote of Hermann Hesse has prompted this painting and is inscripted under the layers of colour and texture.

The Heart Crosses It
Here is a mixed-media work in which deeper textures and collage elements are layered upon one another multiple times, allowing deeper layers to shine through. Within the complexity and apparent chaos, depth and meaning emerge, much like in a life marked by many upheavals and challenges. Symbols that have not yet been fully deciphered may point the way.

LOOK WITHIN
Layers of textures, colours and shapes created an inner landscape – reminiscent of a state of openness and emptiness, that you might find in a meditation.
Like in many of my works I do not begin with a preconceived idea of the finished painting, but simply with a decision about the one or two dominant colours and sensing the mood of the moment. I then let myself follow the process intuitively, where the painting wants to go. Only later I make decisions about composition and details.

In My Quiet Space I Recover
Here, I envision an imaginary landscape in bright, luminous colors, evoking a blue sky and rolling hills. Gold and yellow contrast with blue and purple, yet in a playful, childlike way. It reminds me of the inner world where I—as a rather introverted person—go to find peace and a sense of grounding beyond the chaos.

Off-World
Layers of textures, colours and shapes created an inner landscape – reminiscent of a state of openness and emptiness, that you might find in a meditation. The process of painting is like a journey inwards and this one lead me to a place in another world, one of those we visit in our dreams maybe.

The Quest is not over yet

A Blue Box
Playing with rectangular shapes, but in a loose fashion. A yellow ochre with gold is the dominant colour, while a blue box and specks of orange balance it out. Despite the many edges, the piece exudes a calm and soothing energy.

Uncharted Territory
Layers of textures, colours and shapes created an inner landscape – a space maybe where you have never been before and you have to rely purely on instincts, intuition and self-confidence to find your way through.
Like in most of my works, I did not begin with a preconceived idea of the finished painting, but simply with a decision about the dominant colours, shades of blue and white and specks of orange and sensing the mood of the moment. I then let myself follow the process intuitively, where the painting wants to take me. Only later I make decisions about composition and details.

Pilgrimage
I dream in colours with shades of gold and yellow, as well as darker reds – and in this way create an introspective landscape that perhaps evokes a journey to distant lands, in search of deeper wisdom and my true self.
